Common questions

Is this a real app from the App Store?
It's called a Progressive Web App (PWA). It installs directly from this page and behaves exactly like an App Store app — icon on your home screen, opens full-screen, stays signed in, works offline for cached content. No App Store review, no account required, zero download size.
Will it update automatically?
Yes. The app checks for the latest version every time you open it. You'll always be on the newest release without doing anything on your end.
Will my login stay saved?
Yes. Once you sign in on the installed app, you stay signed in — same way any banking or finance app works. You can log out anytime from Account Settings inside the app.
Is my data and documents safe?
Absolutely. The installed app uses the same encrypted HTTPS connection and authentication as the website. Nothing additional is stored on your device beyond what a normal secure website would store. If your phone is lost or stolen, signing out remotely from any other device protects your vault.
What if I don't want it anymore?
Uninstall anytime. On iPhone/iPad, long-press the icon and choose "Remove App." On Android, long-press and drag to Uninstall. On Mac/Windows, right-click the app icon and choose Uninstall — or just close the window.
Does it cost anything?
No. The Hyde Legacy Vault app is included with your Hyde Legacy Group client relationship at no extra cost.

Install on iPhone or iPad

Takes about 10 seconds. Make sure you're using Safari (not Chrome) on iOS.

  1. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari.
  2. Scroll down in the share menu until you see the "Add to Home Screen" option.
  3. Tap "Add to Home Screen," then tap "Add" in the top-right.
  4. You're done. The Legacy Vault icon now lives on your home screen — tap it like any other app.

Install on Mac (Safari)

Safari on macOS Sonoma or later supports installing web apps directly to your Dock.

  1. Open the File menu at the top of your screen while Safari is active.
  2. Click "Add to Dock…" near the bottom of the menu.
  3. Confirm the name (Legacy Vault) and click "Add."
  4. Launch from your Dock anytime — it opens in its own window, no browser tabs.

If you prefer Chrome or Edge, they have a one-click install button — just return to this page in that browser.

Install on Android

Use Chrome or any Chromium-based browser.

  1. Tap the menu (three dots in the top-right of Chrome).
  2. Select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen."
  3. Tap "Install" in the prompt that appears.
  4. Open it from your home screen or app drawer — just like any Play Store app.

Install on Windows

Use Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

  1. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a small "+⬇" or monitor icon on the right side).
  2. Click it and then click "Install."
  3. Or: open the browser menu (three dots), then choose "Install Legacy Vault."
  4. Launch from your Start menu — it runs in its own window, no browser needed.
